Furniture designer Maria Bruun (*1984) is well on her way to leading the world-renowned tradition of Danish design into the future.
Since she has graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design Maria Bruun works with furniture, interiors, and exhibitions.
Her designs show her deep connection to the Danish design tradition and her sincere respect for her predecessors, which she creates with her own distinctive and innovative approach in close dialogue with skilled craftspeople. Maria Bruun always works on the edge of art, combining her iconic objects into spatial installations and creating microcosms being much more than a collection of utilitarian furniture.
We are very pleased that we could inspire Maria Bruun for an exhibition and that she will create a spatial installation especially for umbrella in which all of her main works will be on display together for the first time ever.
The exhibition is supported by Ny Carlsberg Fonden.
