Nær Tambours Have findes kunstværket “Forsamlingshuset”. I ånden af den oprindelige forsamlingshustanke inviterer lydkunstværket mennesker til at samles, men denne gang foregår forsamlingen udendørs.
“Forsamlingshuset” er en del af et større kunstprojekt i Ringkøbing-Skjern, Varde, Struer og Herning. Skabt på tværs af professioner, kunstarter og fællesskaber. De fire midt- og vestjyske kommuner er samarbejdspartnere for projektet.
Mange vil tydeligt kunne forestille sig at være i et forsamlingshus – vi mindes måske den uendelige håndtryksrunde til familiefesterne, det hyggelige julemarked eller de lokalpolitiske vælgermøder. Forsamlingshusenes vægge har lagt ører til oplevelser og begivenheder siden 1800-tallet, og de har altid været et bankende hjerte i lokalsamfundet. Men den moderne, digitale verden har ændret måden vi er sammen på og måden vi indgår fællesskaber på.
Kunstnerne Lars Bech Pilgaard, Mathias Winther Kjeldsen og Johannes Björkman gentænker forsamlingshuset ved at sætte det fri i naturen, som et åbent og inkluderende lydkunstværk som alle kan benytte og opleve.
Kunstnerne håber, at lydkunstoplevelsen vil trække mennesker ud i naturen og at naturoplevelsen vil introducere flere for lydkunsten. Forsamlingshuset inviterer lokalsamfundet til at bruge værket – som et mødested, en scene, en talerstol, et udflugtsmål eller noget helt andet. De lokale kan benytte Forsamlingshuset i naturen og fylde det med deres egne aktiviteter, minder og oplevelser – præcis som de traditionelle forsamlingshuse.
Kunstværkets lydside består af en collage, der trækker på inspiration fra de traditionelle forsamlingshuse som et kulturelt og socialt mødested. Noget vil forekomme genkendeligt for øret – som et minde, der dukker op – mens andet opleves mere abstrakt. Den fulde komposition inviterer dig indenfor de usynlige vægge af lyd og giver plads til dine egne associationer, minder og refleksioner.
”Med lyden som medie søger vi ikke at påvirke publikum til at have en forudbestemt oplevelse, men lader lydens usynlige natur give plads til den enkeltes associationer. Som forsamlingshusenes tomme rum, der ved hvert arrangement udfyldes forskelligt alt efter gæstens behov,” forklarer kunstnerne.
En specialdesignet software, skabt i samarbejde med Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, manipulerer lyden og musikken ud fra det lokale vejr, så værket forandres i takt med årstiderne og giver publikum en ny og stedsspecifik lytteoplevelse ved hvert besøg.
I resten af udstillingsperioden opfordres alle til at gå i dialog med kunstværket og anvende det som et traditionelt forsamlingshus, hvor mennesker forenes – ikke bag aflukkede vægge, men i det åbne landskab.
Efter den toårige udstillingsperiode er slut, kan de fire skulpturer potentielt forenes i en samlet hovedskulptur, hvilket symbolsk vil knytte de fire egne sammen og skabe en flot afrunding på det ambitiøse kunstprojekt.
Johannes Björkman, Lars Bech Pilgaard og Mathias Winther Kjeldsen er i deres virke drevet af kunstens potentiale for dialoger mellem kultur, natur og fællesskaber, og de har haft stor succes med projekter som Refleksioner af vind og Perspektiver af lyd. Alle tre er opvokset i Jylland tæt på Vesterhavet, hvilket knytter bånd mellem den københavnske kunstscene og de midt- og vestjyske lokalsamfund.
“Forsamlingshuset” åbnede officielt på N.F.S. Grundtvigs fødselsdag den 8. september, men selve indvielsen fandt sted den 11. september til Karlsgårde Dag, hvor der var musik og taler af Udvalgsformand for Kultur og Fritid Sandie Eis Ravn og kunstnerne.
